Alignment of pre and post tests | MTH575 Mathematics Instruction For Special Education | University of Phoenix

[ad_1]

Imagine you are the special education teacher in a co-taught 5th grade mathematics classroom. The general education teacher and yourself have created a lesson plan that aligns to the common core standard below:
CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.5.NF.A.1
Add and subtract fractions with unlike denominators (including mixed numbers) by replacing given fractions with equivalent fractions in such a way as to produce an equivalent sum or difference of fractions with like denominators. For example, 2/3 + 5/4 = 8/12 + 15/12 = 23/12. (In general, a/b + c/d = (ad + bc)/bd.)

The General Education Teacher would like you to create a Pre-test and Post-test that aligns to the common core standard below:

Step 1 – Unpack the 5th grade mathematics standard. Select a knowledge and skill of focus from the standard.

Step 2- Write a lesson plan objective that aligns to the standard.

Step 3 – Research pre-test and post-test assessment types and alternatives.

Step 4 –
Create a pre-test that aligns to the common core standard and objective.
Create a post-test that aligns to the common core standard and objective.

Step 5-
Adapt the pre-test and post-test by adding a total of 4 (2 for the pre-test) (2 for the post-test) accommodations for a student with Autism.
