Practice assertion messages in your daily life in at least 10 different situations during the week (they don’t have to be conflict situations). Discuss the results: what happened when you listened, what response you got from the other person, how you felt, etc. Analyze the process.

You really need to practice this skill, as often as you can, and think about how it went. In reality, you need to practice this skill for months to get really good at it.
